FunSeries Tournament Rules


The rules, which are kept to a minimum are:

 

Anglers

All anglers are to have a valid fishing license as required by Massachusetts law.

Boats

·         All boats must be a minimum of 12 feet in length

·         No Live Bait. Only artificial lures may be used. Trolling is not allowed.

·         Boats must have a livewell capable of keeping a 5 fish limit alive and in good health for the duration of the tournament.This does NOT have to be a built in livewell as long as it is of adequate size to support 5 fish, and has a pump and aeration system.

·         All boats must have all required USCG equipment on board

·         Boats must be legally registered

Safety

·         Live jacket use is required of any contestant who is under 16 when the boat is in motion,and is suggested for all contestants. Children are the

·         Anyone operating in an unsafe manner is subject to disqualification.

·         No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs in the boat at anytime.

Fish

·         All fish must be at least 12" long. No courtesy check will be given. Short fish will result in a one pound penalty per short fish.

·         Only largemouth and smallmouth bass will be weighed.

·         All fish must be alive when weighed in. Penalty for a dead fish is .25 pounds (4 ounces).  Anglers who consistantly have a high number of dead fish may be barred from further entry in series tournaments until improvements are made in their livewell system.

·         No mangled, altered or weighted fish allowed to be weighed in. Fish, crawfish or any other reguritated material will NOT be weighed with the fish.

·         Fish must be alive to be eligible to win the lunker pool

·         Tournament limit is 5 fish per boat. Weighing in more than 5 fish will result in the loss of your biggest fish, and an additional 1 pound penalty. Culling must be done immediately upon catching a 6th fish.

Tournament Hours

Competition hours for all Fun Series tournaments are 7am to 3pm unless announced otherwise. All teams must be signed in by 6:45am. Sign up will start at 6 am. Boats must be back and all fishing completed at the designated time or a penalty of 1 pound per minute late will be accessed. After 15 minutes late disqualification is automatic.

Protests

All protests must be made before weigh in is completed and prizes paid out. Protests must be in writing.
